OMAHA'S AUTHENTIC CAJUN EXPERIENCE
Cajun cuisine, known for its spicy notes and heartiness, is a style of cooking that developed in the Southern reaches of the US after Acadian immigrants fled Canada in the 18th century. Inspired by rural French cooking, Cajun cuisine was developed by a population that lived off the land, adapting over centuries of cultural influences and geographical changes.
Ok, I’m a cajun snob and grew up on most of the cuisine. I expected to be reviewing my meal from the “well, it’s Omaha” perspective. Well, my fellow foodies and Southerners, Acadian is LEGIT. Abita beer, shrimp and grits, red beans and rice. The food packed a spicy flavor, but that was from perfect seasoning and not a “dash of Tabasco”.
From the time we walked in and I heard the subtle blues music, took in the casual ambiance and was greeted was with a warm smile, I felt at home.
Right around the corner from work, I’ll be here often to work my way through the menu.
We ordered food to go tonight. We ordered boudin balls, five pepper blackened chicken, jambalaya, a side of gouda mac & cheese, a side of dirty rice and a side of the homemade cajun chips. Everything was amazing!!! Our family will definitely be going back and eat in the restaurant next time so we can try the homemade ice cream. Wonderful flavors, fair prices and courteous staff! We have a new favorite restaurant! Sorry we didn’t take any photos, it smelled too good not to eat right away! Definitely try the dirty rice!
My in-laws lived in Louisiana for many years. They joined us for our first visit to Acadian Grille.
Food was spot on, flavorful, unique dishes with authentic Louisiana flare.
I had shrimp and grits, best I’ve ever had and not too spicy ( I am not a spicy fan).
Comfortable, friendly atmosphere. We will be back after finding this gem!
Good Food, Amazing Service, our server was Mikey. A new favorite restaurant
